In the age of advertisements, parents argue that children are under great pressure when encountered with ads like snacks, toys and other goods. However, advertisers claim that these advertisements instead offer useful information. From my point of view, parents should make some necessary adjustment towards this unchangeable social phenomenon.
To begin with, advertisements are everywhere as a result of the prevalence of global market-based economy. Market-based economy now dominates the flow of products all around the world. It is against this backdrop that the social phenomenon of making advertisements gains popularity. Therefore, parents should be conscious of this historical moment and the only thing they can do is to adjust their thoughts under the guidance of critical thinking and admit that this is something they and their children must face in their life.
Moreover, parents can take advantage of this opportunity to train their children how to choose wisely when deciding to buy something they need. Advertisers advocate that they provide useful and detailed information for both parents and children. In this case, when buying something the children want, parents can spend time together with their children and train them how to make the smartest decisions towards buying. During the process, children may pick up a lot of life experiences and prepare well for their grown-up days.
To sum up, parents should make clear that advertisements are a social phenomenon that nobody would deny. As a consequence, it would be a good idea for them to shift their point of view and start to look at this challenge as a good way to train their children how to make wise decisions.
